Neflite, Gnome Mage

• Who are you?

Greetings,

I'm an old Wow player who loved and played his heart out in Vanilla. Once BC hit things were just not the same, I've come here to recapture some of that magic.

• Where are you from?

Zagreb, Croatia. Which is sort of Horde territory, but even here we have gnomes.

• How old are you?

28

• What are your usual playing hours?

Depends on the day but most times 19-24 server time.

• Character Name

Neflite

• Character Class

Mage

• Character Talent Spec

Full frost at the moment but I will of course take a raid spec should I be accepted.

• Gear

Very good pre-raid gear, I have + 298 frost damage, 110 fire resistance in fire ress gear and frostbolt rank 11 (got it of the AH). What I mostly lack is mana but with a deep arcane spec and all the dark runes I have gathered + pots that should not be an issue. Working on NR gear atm.

• What professions have you selected for this character and why?

Mining and engineering, because if was told that you could make quite a bit of cash with the combination of the two and having been a tailor/enchanter prior to this I found that that did not increase my raid dps in any significant way. The advice was spot on btw I bought a ton of gear of the AH and forked out quite a sum for frostbolt yet I'm hardly having cash issues. This in turn means I will always have cash to buy damage buffing consumables.

• Can you speak and understand English to a good level?

I was twice the Croatia champion in British parliamentary debate, I work as a part time English translator, communication should not pose a problem.

• Can you use TeamSpeak and are you able to speak when required?

Yes, I even led a couple of raids back in the day. Speaking is not an issue for me.

• Are you comfortable with loot council?

Yes, DKP always seemed like a flawed system to me, the most dedicated raiders usually end up spending insane amounts of DKP on a single item which is the exact opposite of what the system is meant to accomplish. DKP is a way of dodging responsibility trough mathematics and at the end of the day does not provide the most important thing that a loot distribution system should - the best gear for the most dedicated and skilled raiders.

The Loot Council system faces the issues head on, leaving the decision in the hands of officers who obviously know what they are doing otherwise there would be no loot to begin with, thereby strengthening the guild and speeding up progress.

• Mc / Bwl pre-quests?

Both done.

• Previous raiding experience and details.

I was mage class master and when we reduced the number of officers range dps officer in my original guild. I led a couple of raids but for the most part I was focused on doing dps. Before BC hit we had cleared ZG, AQ20, MC, BWL and had started with AQ40 I think we had gotten the first 3 bosses down if I remember correctly. I've been in those instances a million times and know them all by heart.

• Raid attendence - You know the raid times and the raid days. Do you have any problem making these?

Not at all, I never work that late in the evening.

• Are you comfortable with the fact that you may not always have a raid spot?

Yes, since your mage slots are full at the moment I realize that I may not be able to raid as often as I would like, but I am willing to be the "switching to emergency power mage" until such a time when you have more need of me.

• Are you willing to download/use all the necessary addons that are requied to raid with us?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8u7px_GzWQ

• What were your former guilds and why did you leave them?

I left my original guild because I did not like what the game had become in BC, however I made sure there were plenty of people who could take my place when I left, I did not leave them hanging so to speak. I was in two guilds on this server but only for company I left them before they started raiding since it would be unfair to take their gear and then go and join you.

• What would you bring to Final Exit as a guild?

I was made class master because of my dedication and skill, I take the fact that 39 other people depend on me very seriously, when I am in a raid I am focused on my task and only on my task. I was able to consistently be top dps when I got the appropriate gear, my play-style is focused on doing as much damage as possible, however I am very much aware that for that one must never pull aggro.

I like to think of myself as loyal and friendly, I don't plan on doing Deadmine runs all day but should somebody need assistance I will provide it if I can.

I don't talk too much but am willing to speak up when the situation calls for it and am for the most part a jolly person.

To my own surprise I also have found that I like mining, so should the guild need ore I will provide.

• What would you expect from Final Exit as a guild?

A home away from home, a place where people gather and work towards a common goal, where we don't bicker over loot or freak out when we wipe. A guild where people realize that a friendly atmosphere and fun is as important for a guild as hard work and dedication.

A place where I am not made fun of for being a gnome.

Two of my friends are in your guild and I also very much look forward to competing with them on the dps meters : )

I was an asset to my last guild and hope to get the chance to be the same here.

Best regards,

Neflite

This is one of the best application Ive read so far, mate! Your gear isn't superb, but we can't ask for much more from pre-raid players! You got my vote if we need another mage, and I hope that the other officers will read and give feedback.
