About You

• Who are you? I'm a student at Gettysburg College PA, grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. Love video games, and my puppy of course! Not to mention I am a former raid addict :D.

• Where are you from? Atlanta, Georgia

• How old are you? 20

• What are your usual playing hours? Whenever I get the chance to play.

Character Details

• Character Name: Jorts

• Character Class: Mage

• Character Talent Spec: Fire

• Gear: Currently in gear from leveling up, although I am quickly improving my gear by running dungeons to get the best pre-raid gear I can find.

• What professions have you selected for this character and why? Tailoring/Enchanting. I used tailoring leveling up to keep my gear at least somewhat on par with my level. Enchanting because I know my brother's priest he just started is doing alchemy, or else I would have heh. Will be nice when I get some of the better enchants, however.

Communication

• Can you speak and understand English to a good level? Yes.

• Can you use TeamSpeak and are you able to speak when required? Yes.

Raid Details

• Are you comfortable with loot council? Yes.

Make sure you read and understand it and then remove it to fill in your answer or questions.

Loot Council. Loot distribution will be determined by Officers and Class Leaders. The highest ranking officer on that raid will have the final say.

• Mc / Bwl / Naxx pre-quests? I am currently attuned for MC. I can knock out BWL attunement tonight if I can find a group for it.

• Previous raiding experience and details.
Where to start.. :D Well, I began raiding off the bat with the release of World of Warcraft, I joined a family oriented raid guild on the Lothar server. As I was becoming tired of the slow progression of our guild, a brand new server was released; Altar of Storms. Perfect, i thought, a chance to start fresh and perhaps make something more of my time in WoW. I started a priest the day the server was released, and shortly there after, I saw the first guild form, "Mindtrip." I asked a member what the guild was going to be and what it was all about. I was told that they were a reroll guild that had strict leveling policies and aimed to be the number one guild on the server. I knew then, that this is where I wanted to take my WoW career, and I was offered an invite. After the first week that the server was released, all members that had not reached level 30 were removed, after week 2, all members not level 46 were released, and near the end of the fourth week, all members that were not level 60 were removed. To make a long story short, 1 month and 3 days after the server was released, we had downed Ragnaros, slightly less than 2 months after the server had been released, we had downed Nefarian (on our 2nd try at that -- Link: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4612318082756201912) We were virtually geared completely in greens and blues; a few lucky people had 1 or maybe two epics at this point. After downing Huhuran at around 4:30 am pne night, we decided that the guild needed a break, and most people ended up quitting due to the grueling amount of time this guild required. About a month after Mindtrip dissolved, a new server came out, Aegwynn. I decided to play there! I had a very similar experience, except this time with a hunter, with a guild called Enclave (later to be called Syndrome). I still hold that our guild has the World First Ragnaros kill before Sons of Flame, however true that is, no one will ever know lol. I ended up getting banned due to my usage of the WoW bot, WoWglider, and took a break for a few months until TBC came out. Through TBC I raided with a guild called Trismegistus, currently in the top 150 raid guilds in the world. After the release of WoTLK, I decided it was time for a nice long break. I played periodically, but never seriously raided. Now that I've found a wow classic server, I would love to be able to relive the days when wow, and particularly wow raiding was the best.

• Raid attendence - You know the raid times and the raid days. Do you have any problem making these? No problem.
- Are you an adult in control of your own playtime or is it dictated for you? Will anything cause you to quit early/afk/cancel the pre-organised event at a moments notice with 39 other people from all over the world who put time aside to spend it with you? I currently have no restrictions, besides class, which does not conflict with raid times.

• Are you comfortable with the fact that you may not always have a raid spot? Yes

• Are you willing to download/use all the necessary addons that are requied to raid with us? Yes

Final Exit

• What were your former guilds and why did you leave them? On this server, no guild history.

• What would you bring to Final Exit as a guild? I would provide a solid team player, and hopefully more enjoyment to other members of the guild!

• What would you expect from Final Exit as a guild? A pretty serious raid guild, but judging by your progression thus far, I think that is already covered. A generally accepting and kind environment, and an environment which would push me to improve.

Was worried the whole 'gear over skill' might be an issue, thanks anyways!

Greetings Jorts, with all that experience that u have u should know what is an minimum gear requirement for joining even to end game guild . So what I wanted to say is that u should get as every1 calls it "best in slot PRE raid gear" then to apply . I mean its stupid to apply for any guild with gear that u just mention in ur apply . So I agree with herp -1 .

all the skill in the world won't save your ass on anub or thadd if you don't have enough gear to carry you through the fight...and no amount of mana pots will help you to keep casting fireballs on patchwerk...you can't enter MC if you're level 40 and in the same way you can't raid naxx with blues

ofc it will- it is just a question of timing and postioning :)

nice apply imo @jorts
but the guys are right, if you dont have a minimum gear with some hundred sp you are no benefit but a burden for a raid.
if its only cause your fireball takes a way a better debuff - debuff limit will be released soon.

Well, Herp got a point, as mages with poor gear will lack a lot of stamina, and the impale will one shot them.

hey there,

Pretty much everything that had to be said has been said.

What I want to add:

Quote
Was worried the whole 'gear over skill' might be an issue, thanks anyways!

I don't like this comment, I don't think you have the right view of what you are going to raid here. many things on this server, especially naxx/cthun, is buffed as fuck.
Don't think we only take people which have the gear to do these bosses/raids with us, I have seen mages that wanted to join with mish'undare, regalia, cthun belt, full t2.5 etc but being total noobs (constantly dying + being outdps'd by a much worse geared frost mage which wasnt even his main) and ofc I, didn't even think 1 second about taking them.
It's pretty simple, you need gear to join, bosses or even trash in naxxramas will 1 shot you with whatever skill they might use. (Think of loatheb, faerlina, anub, these things hit for 2.7-5k AoE)
You can't compare retail naxx with this, we go madbuffs, on retail people hardly flasked. You also just dinged 60 and I doubt if you can keep up with the amount of consumables we expect you to use every raid.

Don't think I'm trying to burn you down, I just wanna point towards that comment that people generally have of guilds like these, gear>skill

Especially the fact that we have tons of mages, your gear and the fact you applied without even having BWL/Naxx attunement anytime soon made me come to this conclusion.

Sorry, Declined.

Ps. This might sound bad, but it's how things go -> join another guild (BWL guild should be np with preraid gear, esp as mage), loot their drops and give it another shot if you still like to. (Or PuG ZG/MC/BWL)
