as long as cloak of consumption is the only piece you bought, and the other gear wasn't all donated for, then you'd have +1 as well from me. i know the drop rate sucks for that cloak and grinding zg sucks even MORE.
awesome gear aside from Netherwind Bindings, but a lot of the rest of the stuff he's got is BiS for mages. +1 from me for gear/experience. Could always use more geared and experienced raiders who are active.
Yeah, I agree with what you said. He might be a cool guy, seems nice enough. I am not an officer, but I wouldn't mind having a few socials in the guild who are working hard to make something of themselves, then he can re-update his app as a trial if he acquires the BiS gear / enchants.
Never use Netherwind Bindings over Bracers of Arcane Accuracy. Keep 20 frost dmg enchanted on Sorcerer's Gloves for BWL spec, Keep 20 fire dmg enchanted on Netherwind Gloves (BiS gloves) for AQ/NAXX spec. Never wear Arcanist Robe over Bloodvine, if you're running low on HP for NAXX (you'll need to be able to break about 5,200 buffed for some fights) then change the bracers +7 int to +9 stamina, changes your boots enchant to stamina, and change your chest enchant to stamina (unless you already have +4 stats, in which case keep that). You are a tailor, therefore you should always run the Bloodvine 3 piece set, as crit is a huge personal dps increase for fire mages. Never break the set, until you get tier 2.5 or something of that level. Run Jin'do's bag of whammies because of the stamina and hit, once you get better gear, you can switch to the scepter for an offhand, because it's technically better dps. The ZG hero charm is good for quick fights, but you might also want to get the Rune of the Dawn (upgraded AD scourgestone trinket) for NAXX and possibly Briarwood Reed for certain fights. Use Band of Vaulted secrets / Zanzil's Seal, as they have good stats and both offer your much needed Stamina. Use the Charm of the Shifting Sands instead of Diana's Pearl Necklace, again for stamina. Netherwind Mantle isn't great, but you can keep it until you get better, or farm with a 6-10 man raid, the Silithus Duke's and get the Abyssal Amice of Sorcery. It offers 1% +hit as well as stam / int.
If you run the gear I suggested you'll be at max stamina (from the gear options you listed) as well as 9% hit from gear, which is definitely fine. It's not always wise to sacrifice other stats to try and have 10% hit from gear. Most top-end mages have about 9% from gear with the current gear available as it is on Feenix. Those are my suggestions to help you improve yourself and be aware of what kind of things you need to be ready for in Naxx. The downside to your application is that you don't know about Naxx and don't know about these things, hence the reason I am sharing them with you now! Good Luck!
those are some pretty good upgrades you've gotten, plus BWL attunement. Get your naxx attunement and you have my +1 if there happens to be any room for you.
seems the guy tried pretty hard on his application, to be honest. he wrote a lot more and formatted it a lot better than most applicants, and is willing to change specs to whatever the guild needs. it's also true that there is not a question on the template to link consumables or pc specs, which are both probably decent things to add to the template. he will have all his attunements done by tomorrow. i don't see what the harm would be in offering a social spot to a dedicated guy who put the time in to make this kind of application. if he gears up and shows he is a good player, then we could definitely use him in the future. with all the quitters and lack of dedication being shown recently, it is nice to see someone put a lot of effort into their application, even if their gear sucks. if he truly has the experience, attunements, willingness to farm all consumables and perform as any spec -- like i said -- i don't see what the harm in giving him a social invite would be. he might end up gearing fast, and then being able to help us in a tight spot. or he might end up sucking, and we can just boot him. either way, i am going to give you +1 for your application, but only a +1 as a social, not as a trial raider at the moment.
it's Combustion -- not Consumption -- and Fireball, Desmo... and you are right, there is no skill involved in using it... however, using it well is a different story :p His gear is really good, actually -- lots of crit, on top of having a +21 spell damage wand, instead of 20! i'm going to give him +1 for that. hard to find those, these days!
I am not the rogue CL, but as a long time rogue player I would suggest reading the rogue BiS forums or some of the old rogue spreadsheets from elitist jerks or another place that still might have them up, and getting the proper gear before applying. Not to sound arrogant, but most people with rogue alts in this guild are even quite a bit more geared than your rogue. there is no way you'd be ready for naxx, or even to do competent dps in aq40 with that gear and those low dps weapons. If you feel you are an exceptional player, I suggest you gear up your character as much as possible, get exalted with ZG, revered with argent dawn for naxx attunement, and get some better weapons, and then update your application again. for now, i would definitely -1 this application.
thanks for putting in the time and effort to link all your gear, including offspec and resist gear, as well as enchants. +1 from me. I've done zg with the guy a couple times on alts and he seemed fine.
In before someone else asks you to list your gear and enchants and also asks you what kind of tanking gear and experience you have. it's cool that you ran a successful guild on the 2.4.3 server, however, you should answer the gear question on your application, so we can get an idea of what gear level you are at. cheers!
I can tell you put a lot of effort into the application, however, in my opinion the gear isn't anywhere close to being ready to raid at the moment. You'd need to re-spec to Fire (we don't raid as Frost because the damage pales in comparison to fire for AQ40/Naxx, because of Ignite), farm up the gold for the Bloodvine set 3/3 and for buying the Sylvan Nature Resist set 3/3 + Gaea's Embrace, as well as using your vote-points to get some of the other +hit gear (Bloodtinged Gloves, etc...), do some LBRS/UBRS to get Briarwood Reed and Eye of the Beast for HUGE trinket upgrades. You should just goto the wow-one website's forums, and follow the BiS mage gearing list and run those instances to get the gear on that list, trying to have as close to 10% +hit from gear as possible, before applying to an end-game guild. You can even reserve the items before you run the instance, that way you are guaranteed the loot, if it drops.
However, I have no say-so in the end; this is simply my suggestion to you, as a fellow mage.
-1 from me. he bugged me to join my zg group and i let him in, since he was an applicant, even though his gear is terribly lacking then he afk/disappeared with no warning. could at least tell me he had to leave or something, since he is applying to the guild.
